Track3D now supports capturing 360° images and video walks using Ricoh Theta cameras, enabling faster, high-resolution documentation in the field. Follow the steps below to connect and capture using your Ricoh Theta camera.
Connecting to Ricoh Theta X:
Turn on your camera and ensure that both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your camera. Only Ricoh Theta X is officially supported for scanning.
Open the app and select your project where you will have the option to download offline by clicking on it. The app downloads all the floor plans available in the project.
Click on ‘Capture’ on the project card
Select ‘360 Video Walk’ as the Capture Type from the prompted options.
When prompted to select a camera, choose from the list shown. The camera will appear by its hotspot name (e.g., ABCD1234), not the model's name.
If your device is not visible: You can manually enter the model code, found near the QR code at the bottom of your camera.
Connecting Ricoh Theta Z
This is only supported for connecting using model code only.
Open the app and select your project and follow the same steps as above mentioned.
Choose the capture type you wish to perform (e.g., 360 images, walkthrough).
To Connect to your device: Manually enter the model code, found near the QR code at the bottom of your camera.
Once connected, begin your capture and save when complete.
The capture will be saved directly to your device—no preview is shown in-app.
After saving, proceed to sync and upload as you would for any other capture.
