Adding Categories
Updated over 3 weeks ago

This article explains how to add categories in the Track3D platform. Categories help you organize and classify different aspects of your project, making it easier to track progress and analyze data.

Access the Category Selection: To start adding categories, go to the project details page.

Once in the project details, click on Progress Configuration to start adding the categories

Choose a Category: You can select a category in one of two ways:

Commonly used categories are displayed for quick access:

  • Drywall + Framing (7 Stages)

  • Framing (i) (6 stages)

  • Plumbing-Domestic (1 Stage)

  • Mechanical Duct (2 Stages)

  • Doors (2 Stages)

  • Mechanical Piping (2 Stages)

Also, If the desired category is not visible in the list, you can search for it by name.

Color Selection: Choose a color for the category to visually distinguish it. If you select a color that's already in use, a message "This color is in use" will appear when hovering over the color selection.

Add the Category: After selecting the desired category and assigning a color to the category, it will be added to your project.

Height Option: For categories that require height measurements, the "Height" input option will become visible after the category is added.

Limits and Restrictions:

  • Maximum Categories: A maximum of 20 categories are allowed per project. If you attempt to add more, the message "Maximum of 20 categories allowed. Delete to add more." will be displayed.

  • Duplicate Categories: Adding duplicate categories is not permitted. If you try to add a category that already exists, the message "Duplicate category. Please select a different category." will be shown.

  • Add Category Button: The "Add Category" button will be disabled when the maximum category limit is reached, or when attempting to add a duplicate category.
