This article explains how to save, manage, and use templates for your category and stage configurations. Templates allow you to reuse pre-defined category and stage setups across multiple projects, saving you time and effort.
Templates are available at the company level, meaning they can be accessed and used across all projects within your organization. This promotes consistency and efficiency in your project setups.
Saving a Configuration as a Template:
After you've configured your categories and stages for a project, you can save this setup as a reusable template:
Save as Template: Look for the "Save as Template" option. The exact location may vary depending on the application context.
Name the Template: You will be prompted to give your template a descriptive name. Choose a name that clearly identifies the template's purpose or the type of project it's intended for.
Viewing and Editing Templates:
The saved templates are accessible through the "Use Template" section. Here, you can manage your existing templates:
Edit Template Names: You can modify the names of your saved templates to keep them organized and up to date.
Search Templates: If you have numerous templates, use the search functionality to quickly find the one you need.
Delete Templates: You can delete templates that are no longer required.
View Template Details: You can view details about each template, including the creator's name and the date the template was created. This helps with version control and accountability.
Navigating to Templates (Discarding Unsaved Changes):
The "Go to Templates" button provides a way to navigate directly to the template overview page.
Important: Selecting "Go to Templates" will discard any unsaved changes you have made to your current category and stage configuration. This functionality is designed for situations where you have adjusted but decide not to keep them. It allows you to quickly revert to a saved template or browse other available templates.
The "Go to Templates" button will automatically be hidden as soon as any asset is drawn or added to the project. This prevents accidental data loss and ensures that you save any important changes before switching to a different template.
