Marking Progress Without Captures

Updated today

Overview

Track3D allows users to track construction progress by capturing site data through photos or videos. These captures create a snapshot, which represents all captures taken on a specific date. Users can then mark progress on the floor plan using these snapshots.

Currently, progress can only be marked on dates where captures exist.

Current Workflow: Capture (Photo/Video) → Snapshot Created → Mark Progress on Floorplan

This means that if a user visits the site but does not capture photos or videos, they cannot record progress for that date.

New Enhancement: Mark Progress Without Captures

Track3D now allows users to mark progress on any date, even if no captures were taken that day.

This enables teams to record progress based on site observations, without requiring capture uploads.

How to Mark Progress Without Captures

  1. Open the Progress Calendar for the project. Select any available date between the project start date and the current date.

2. If no captures exist for the selected date, the system will display an informational message.

3. Continue to mark progress directly on the floor plan. The system will create a Manual Snapshot for that date.

Note:
Future dates cannot be selected.

Visual Indicators in the Calendar

To help users distinguish between different types of progress entries:

  • Capture-based snapshots will display the existing capture icon.

  • Manual progress dates will display a new progress icon.

If both capture and manual progress exist on the same date, the capture icon will take precedence.

If a user selects a progress date without captures while viewing Reality vs Sheet mode:

  • The system automatically switches to Sheet view.

  • A message appears: "Sheet loaded. No captures exist for the selected date."

This occurs because Reality view requires capture data to display imagery.

Capture List Behavior :-

Dates that contain only progress entries without captures:

  • Will NOT appear in the Capture List

  • Will still appear in the Progress Calendar and reports

Reports and Analytics

Progress dates without captures will now be included in:

  • Progress Reports

  • Progress Overview

  • Progress Trends

  • Progress Details Calendar

  • Heatmaps

  • Delta and cumulative progress calculations

  • Activity logs

Alerts Behavior

Alerts will continue to trigger only based on capture dates. If an external user marks progress without captures, it will be considered part of the next capture-based snapshot.

Progress Filters

A new filter allows users to track asset creation by user type:

This filter is available in:

  • Progress Filters

  • Activity Logs

Notes:

A progress date will only appear in the calendar if. At least one asset has been created on the floor plan.

Users can navigate only to dates with captures. Dates with only progress will show a tooltip: "No captures exist"
