Floor Plan requirements

Updated today

  1. Architectural floor plans to be uploaded.

  2. Request that DWG/PDF files to be uploaded.

While uploading the PDF plans be ensure that following information is available on the plans

    Measurement Scale/ Dimension:
Drawings must include a graphical scale bar and/or clearly annotateddimensions. Accurate scale information allows Track3D to calibratethe model's unit system, ensuring that all distance measurements andprogress tracking reflect real-world values.

    True North:
A True North indicator must be clearly marked on all floor plans. TrueNorth allows Track3D to correctly orient your digital twin with real-world coordinates, which is essential for GPS integration, drone dataalignment, and external tool exports.

    Vector Format :
Drawings must be submitted in vector format (DWG, DXF, or PDF withvector layers). Vector files ensure precise measurements andscalability without quality loss, enabling Track3D to accurately align360° captures with your floor plans.

    Key Plan:
A key plan (also called a site plan or location plan) showing the overallfloor layout with the area of interest highlighted. This helps theTrack3D team understand the spatial context and navigate betweendifferent zones during capture setup.

    Architecture Background for Shop Drawings:
Shop drawings must include a clean architectural background layershowing walls, columns, and structural elements. This baseline layerallows Track3D to overlay trades-specific data (MEP, structural, etc.)with full spatial accuracy.

    Grid Lines:
Structural grid lines (column grid) must be visible and labeled on alldrawings. Grid lines serve as universal reference points that anchorTrack3D's coordinate system to the physical jobsite, ensuringconsistent positioning across all captures.

    Single Drawing per sheet :
Each sheet should contain only one floor plan or drawing view.Multiple drawings on one sheet create ambiguity in floor-levelassignment and can cause misalignment when Track3D maps capturesto the correct level of a multi-story project.

    Element Anotations:
All respective key trade elements (e.g. drainage/domestic forplumbing, grills/diffusers/AHU for Mechanical Equipment) must belabeled. Annotations allow Track3D to auto-tag locations within the360° viewer and enable smart search, progress filtering, and issuereporting by area.

When selecting floor maps, it is important to ensure they are appropriate for the task at hand. For instance, if the project involves remodeling or demolition, using existing conditions floor plans is recommended to ensure precise origin point selection.

Once the project transitions from demolition to the construction phase, a new floor map can be uploaded.

During the foundation stage, it is beneficial to use floor maps that include details such as fencing or layout information. These details assist in providing a comprehensive understanding of the project's foundation, making it easier for users to capture and interpret the necessary data accurately.
