Progress Without Takeoff Values

Updated this week

This article explains on how to utilize project where Takeoff Values" (predefined total quantities) are not the primary focus. Instead, the system adapts to track progress based on the actual values recorded, providing clear insights into your project's advancement.

Understanding Progress Tracking Without Takeoff:

For some projects, users are more interested in tracking the absolute amount of work completed rather than a percentage against a fixed total. Track3D now supports this by allowing you to work with projects where you might not initially define or consistently use Takeoff Values.

  • To access the overview page hover on the left navigation panel, where you can see the "Progress Overview" button, by clicking it will land on the overview page.

  • Percentage indicators related to progress are removed.

  • When exporting the Overview data, only the absolute progress values will be included (percentages will not be present).

  • The "Remaining" and "Completed" labels, which rely on Takeoff Values, are removed.

Trends Page (Current Limitations):

  • Currently, for projects without Takeoff Values, the following functionalities are disabled on the Trends page: exporting, hierarchy selection, stage selection, and the "Apply" button

Note: We are working on an update to enable graph generation on the Trends page based on selected stages for projects without Takeoff Values.

If your project does utilize Takeoff Values but some stages are missing this data:

  • On the Overview Page, an alert icon will appear within the cell of any stage that is missing a Takeoff Value.

  • Clicking the "Update Takeoffs" button, typically located on the Overview page, will allow you to input the missing Takeoff values. After entering the missing values, you will have the option to Save your changes or discard them. Once saved, the alert icon will be removed from the updated stage cells.

  • Stages without any Takeoff data will be displayed as a single, uncolored cell on the Overview page. A note explaining this will be visible next to the color range legend.

  • The "Show percentage" setting will not affect these specific cells without Takeoff data.

  • When selecting stages without Takeoff values on the Trends Page, a toast message will appear, informing you that these stages will not be displayed on the graph.
