Overview
Capture Tags allow you to label your images, videos, and 360° captures with meaningful identifiers—such as issue types, work areas, or progress markers. These tags help you organize your captures efficiently and filter them easily for review, reporting, and analysis.
Managing Capture Tags in Project Configuration
You can create and manage Capture Tags directly from the Project Configuration section.
Accessing Capture Tags
Go to your Project → Project Configuration. From the left panel, select Capture Tags.
You will see a list of pre-populated default tags that can be edited or deleted as needed using the edit and delete buttons.
Default tags include -

Adding a New Tag: Click + Add a Tag to create a new tag. In the pop-up box, enter the tag name under Type and assign a tag color. Save your changes to make the new tag available in your project.
Assigning Tags to Captures
Tags can be assigned during or after a capture on mobile devices, or while uploading and can also be used for drone/laser data on the web.
On Mobile (During Capture)
When you’re on the location/direction assignment screen, click Proceed.
You’ll be prompted to select one or more tags before starting the capture. Tags will appear in the same order as they are saved in Project Configuration → Capture Tags.
Tags for Progress Projects; you’ll also have an option to mark the capture as Progress. You will have toggled on as progress before capturing from the capture start screen.
The progress toggle is by default for progress projects. Progress will only be tracked if you turn the toggle on.
If you don’t want to track progress for a particular capture, simply keep the toggle off and continue — that capture will not have any progress recorded.
Once this is selected, you can assign tags as usual.
Before Uploading
Go to the cloud icon on the app home screen from the mobile app after saving the capture. Tap “Plus icon” to select one or more tags before uploading captures. This helps you organize data before it’s synced to the platform.
Viewing and Managing Tags on Captures
Once tags are assigned, you can view, filter, and manage them from the Captures screen.
Viewing Tags
Assigned tags are displayed directly on each capture.
Deleted tags are shown with a strikethrough, so you can still reference them. If all tags for a capture are deleted, an info icon will appear—hovering it will show previously assigned tags.
Filtering Captures by Tags
Click the Filters option on the Captures screen beside the search bar on the top. You can filter captures by assigned tags or by those marked as progress.
Tags in Reports
When generating a report (via Download Notes → Generate Report), you can choose whether to include tags in the PDF. Tags are always included when exporting data as a CSV.
Editing Tags (Admin Users)
Admins can create, edit, or assign tags directly from the Captures screen. Tags created on-the-go will automatically be assigned as a color.
